By the end of June our Instructional, A and Farm Leagues for baseball and softball will be coming to an end for our spring season. Last year, we created a summer baseball season for kids in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade for the first time and it was quite popular and successful. We would like to know if there is interest from families in having another summer season of baseball and softball this summer in the months of July and August. We can have only skill sessions or teams that could practice and play each other weekly. We think that a season that would involve one weeknight/weekend or one weeknight and one weekend per week would be ideal. The group that we are targeting for this season are kids who are currently in Preschool, Kindergarten, and 1st grade and would be playing in the Instructional, Farm, A, and AA leagues next spring. We have two surveys happening and we are asking parents of 1st graders to fill out both.We know for certain that this season will not be possible unless we have enough parents and caregivers who will volunteer to be coaches.
We have created a short survey that we are asking all families of Preschoolers, Kindergarteners and 1st Graders to complete to determine if there is enough interest to create a summer season. The results will also inform us of when this would take place and how it would be structured.
Please take about 3 minutess to fill out the survey by Tuesday, June 22nd. Please complete one for each child that you have in these grades and make sure you hit the Submit button at the end.
By the end of June our spring leagues for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders will be coming to an end. Due to COVID restrictions there was not a traditional summer season and league last summer, but we did create our own PYBS summer season which was quite successful. We would like to see if there is interest from families in having a similar summer season of baseball and softball this summer in the months of July and August. Teams would not play in any external leagues, but would play each other weekly. We think that a season that would involve one weeknight practice and one weekend game per week may be ideal. The details of if and how this will work will depend upon how much interest there is. I know for certain that this will not be possible unless we have enough parents and caregivers who will volunteer to be coaches.
We have created a short survey that we are asking all families of 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders to complete to determine if there is enough interest to create a summer season and how that will function. Please take a few moments to fill out the survey and please contact Ray Levy at
or 617-417-3132 if you have any questions, comments, or feedback.
The survey should take about 3 minutes to complete. Please complete one for each child that you have in this age range be sure to hit the "Submit" button at the end. I will be looking at the results on Tuesday, June 22nd so please complete the survey by then.
